Find a Good Shop to Get the Best Jet Ski Motor and More

By Low Jeremy

Keeping a good care of your jet ski motor will take it to its peak performance. In fact, if you keep it in good condition, you really would not have to bother about rigid maintenance after.

But there are natural circumstances that we cannot discard. All jet skis depreciate and suffer from natural death. But that of course would take ages before happening.

Well, before your jet ski gets old and die because of an impaired motor, it would be good to note that there are shops that offer services regarding motors, spare parts and accessories.

Too many jet ski owners believe that what they need is a new jet ski motor when all the while, they only have to revamp their old ones. However, it can also be remanufactured and perform in the level of new ones. To help the motor regain its usual performance, the owner must be able to seek a top-caliber repair shop that exceeds one's expectations.

Here are some tips that will help you discover the best people to do the work for you:

Complete service
If you can't find this service then rest assured that such is the normal case. Most motor shops these days specialize in specific parts. However, there will always be some self-respecting motor shops that can provide you with all the stuffs you need.

Various local jet ski motor shops offer engine parts such as piston kits, crankshaft parts, cylinder heads, rebuild kits, and a number of others. Many of these shops also have their online services that further improve their outreach.

Aside from providing new, revamped or remanufactured jet ski motors, most shops both online and offline offer repairing services in case you lack the knowledge of fixing the motor yourself. Between their large selections of parts and equipments, you can also be assured of in-house services that will deliver your jet ski motors in their prime condition.

There are other packages that may be had from jet ski motor shops. Among these are the performance packages that will recreate your personal watercraft vehicle into a speed maniac that is ideal for racing and personal enjoyment.

Additionally, such shops may also provide wide array of parts selections used for other watercraft systems such as the pump, electrical connections and exhaust.

Well, jet ski stuffs never cease to increase in volume and kinds so it would be good to add that many shops can also provide jet ski gears and accessories. These include huge selections of eyewear and wetsuits, which make the sports an infinite source of enjoyment for water sport lovers.

The sport of Jet Ski Freestyle has seen many additions over the year; including great female freestylers and freestyle on runabout jet skis. In the begnning all jet ski racers had to do freestyle, so we saw the like of Cristy Carlson and others freestyling. In the early 1990s saw Patti Mogan take to the freestyle water against many top riders, then later Rambo Rosie Nuttall became a force in freestyle doing her patent "figure skating" style tricks.

Today, the most common sailboat is the sloop which features one mast and two sails, a normal mainsail and a foresail. This simple configuration is very efficient for sailing towards the wind. The mainsail is attached to the mast and the boom, which is a spar capable of swinging across the boat, depending on the direction of the wind. Depending on the size and design of the foresail it can be called a jib, genoa, or spinnaker; it is possible but not common for a sloop to carry two foresails from the one forestay at one time (wing on wing). The forestay is a line or cable running from near the top of the mast to a point near the bow. In Bermuda, where a rig design influenced by the Lateen rig appeared on boats and came to be known as the Bermuda rig, a large spinnaker was carried on a spinnaker boom when running down-wind. An example of a typical sloop can be seen on the Islander 36.

Boat Transports

By Jonny Holderbrock

Getting a large boat from here to there may seem simple just sail there! Ah, but this is often impossible given large land masses, which brings us to the issue of boat transports.

There is no question that the best way to get your boat from point A to point B is to sail it there. Some time this is not possible for the simple reason that there is no water between these two points. This is where boat transport comes into play. Of course, smaller boats have their own trailers and even many larger boats have them. It is the real large boats that require special trucking services. Many boat trucking companies are called yacht moving companies for this reason.

The boat trucking companies offer water to water service. They will pick up the boat from its original mooring and transfer it to any location in the world. The trucking companies are often called relocation companies for this reason. They provide everything that you need to safely relocate your boat from one location to the other. In many cases, there are even professional pilots available in the event that some part of the transfer must be on water.

Preparation for travel is one of the most important factors in the safe boat trucking of your boat. Despite all efforts to prevent damage, moving the boat over a highway is risky. If preparation is done properly, the risk is minimized. It is important to remove all protruding antennas or rigging. All loose items must be properly stowed and secured. It is very important to insure that all items of value and personal items are removed from the boat and transported separately. In almost every case, the boat trucking company will not assume responsibility for the loss of valuables or personal items.

There is some controversy about shrink wrapping the boat prior to transfer. Some boat trucking companies offer this service, and some owners have it done themselves prior to transport. It is essential that the shrink wrapping is done properly because if it tears during transport it will usually result in damage from flapping shrink wrap or abrasion.

Insurance is another issue. Most boat trucking companies will provide the opportunity to procure insurance coverage for the move. This insurance can supplement your existing insurance if it has transport provisions. In either case, a through inspection of the boat and accurate documentation of the boats condition before the move and after the move is essential. There are going to be times when large boats must be transported across land for one reason or another. When this happens, there are some very competent boat trucking companies ready to do it with a minimum of fuss.

Learn More About mastercraft ski boat

Much like a motorcycle, acceleration in a jet ski is provided by a hand-powered throttle located on the right-side grip. By twisting the throttle, the driver can increase power to the motor. Steering a jet ski requires a combination of pointing the front-mounted grips and maneuvering the body. Unlike a street motorcycle, a jet ski often requires significant acceleration to accomplish sharp turns in the water.

Most modern monohull boats have fin keels, which are heavy and deep, but short in relation to the hull length. More traditional yachts carried a full keel which is generally half or more of the length of the boat. A recent feature is a winged keel, which is short and shallow, but carries a lot of weight in two "wings" which run sideways from the main part of the keel. Even more recent is the concept of canting keels, designed to move the weight at the bottom of a sailboat to the upwind side, allowing the boat to carry more sails.

Sailing/cruising To Achieve One's Goals.

Sun, 19 Aug 2007 16:55:16 +0200
After reading Liz Clark's sailing blog, my husband and I started talking about what was so refreshing about it (besides the good grammar and pics!). Well, the thing that jumped out was the fact that this cruiser wasn't identifying herself as a cruiser but instead as a surfer-girl. Her outlook on life, her goals, where she's going and what she's doing doesn't simply focus on "cruising" for the sake of cruising. We realized that we were craving another viewpoint like this. We absolutely love to hear about people who are achieving another life goal where sailing/cruising happens to be a conduit to the achievement. What do you all think?

Hunter Class - South Africa - Official Website

8 Feb 2008 07:00:03 +0200
Hunter Boats was started in 1969, with the first "famous" boat being the NATIONAL SQUIB, designed and finished by Oliver Lee, and moulded by the Essex Boat Company. The Squib has gone on to reach national status with more than 800 on the water. In 1970, a chap named Michael Poland requested that the builder design a "lid" for the Squib, to enable him to sail it across the English Channel. As Poland's other favourite past-time was hunting, the boat was named the HUNTER 19! Oliver also designed a Squib with a lifting keel, called a TRACER, and then redesigned the Hunter 19 naming the new boat the EUROPA.
